Cheng Sinzan was born with great natural powers. He used them with his martial arts skills. Though he would eventually take on a career as a business tycoon in Hong Kong, he would use his skills and powers to help Terry Bogard defeat Wolfgang Krauser. However, Cheng is also doing this for some kind of financial gain as well. Cheng also uses some of his wealth to help sponsor the King of Fighters tournaments, and would sometimes invite himself into the tournaments.
